Integrative Psychotherapy Services

Trauma and attachment informed integrative psychotherapy.

To be human is to need others, and this is no flaw or weakness.

Integrative Psychotherapy Services

The impact of trauma is the dis-integration of the person’s inner world, and this may continue long after the experience has ended.  I intend to support you by using the wisdom of different approaches to facilitate the rebuilding of a sense of safety.  Healing and integrating past wounds through building understanding, self-awareness, and self-compassion, learning about how trauma impacts mind and body, and through reprocessing the experience to emotionally integrate the trauma, with the hope of regaining a sense of control over your life.

This approach may also be beneficial if you are experiencing PSTD, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, thoughts of ending your life, relationship ruptures, self-doubt, grief and loss amongst other distressing feelings.  You may also be in a period of life reflection, feeling lost or confused, and you may find some relief or release in exploring this further.

Knowing oneself comes from attending with compassionate curiosity to what is happening within.

What to Expect

The Integrative psychotherapy offered by Rachel at ‘Turning Towards’ is informed by different therapeutic approaches with an Attachment Theory and Trauma Informed perspective.  Person Centred Therapy is combined with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), AI-EMDR (Attachment Informed EMDR) and IFS (Internal Family Systems).  Approaches which have all been scientifically researched and which complement each other.  This means unique and individualised sessions that acknowledge that what you are experiencing now, is a result of a multitude of different life experiences.  There’s no ‘one size fits all’ in therapy.
